Cate Crombie, Communications Facilitator, CNVC Certified Trainer
Cate has been a facilitator of communication courses for over 20 years. Her workshops and training is offered in a variety of ways and settings, from corporate training, parenting workships in community centres, university, to in-service training in the social services sector.
Since 2001, Cate has been learning and practicing Nonviolent Communication skills in both her personal and professional life. Being inspired to share this powerful yet natural model with others, Cate is now a Centre for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) certified trainer of Nonviolent Communication.
The Centre for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) was first founded by Dr Marshall Rosenberg in 1984 to spread the training of NVC across the United States. Training in NVC is now offered in five continents by over 180 trainers who collectively train around 250,000 people every year via workshops and practice groups. The training is helping prevent and resolve conflicts in schools, businesses, health care centres, prisons, mining communities, community groups and families.
Working in a gentle and empowered experiential style, Cate invites participants to work with examples from their own lives whether personal or business. Her workshops and private work involve a balance of support as well as challenge that people say they find both stimulating and enjoyable!
Cate will be presenting "Creating Collaborative Connections in Project Teams"
Given this year’s conference is all about – Connecting the Elements – it is with our great pleasure to have Cate Crombie join us and talk about the other 95% of what it takes to make a project team successful: communication!
Cate Crombie is an accomplished facilitator who has spoken around the world about her discovery of NVC (non-violent communication) through life experiences and her work with a variety of schools including Montesorri environments.
Cate’s talk is about helping people in the workplaces become co-creators of the solutions to problems, programmes, projects or teams. She will talk about how assertiveness and empathy go hand-in-hand and four simple steps to achieve both. She will introduce the dreaded drama triangle and how best to ensure ‘shift happens’ to guarantee the continuation of an empowered and connected learning environment and team. Ultimately you will walk away with increased skills to provide clear objective communication to those who you work with and work for. This is the 95% of management you have not heard about.
